La Cancela Verde is a traditional Canarian villa, thoughtfully restored to blend timeless charm with contemporary comfort. Perched above Puerto del Carmen with sweeping views of the Atlantic, this unique retreat combines heritage character with modern elegance—offering a tranquil, private escape where every detail is designed for relaxation.

The Villa

Tucked into the hills above Puerto del Carmen, La Cancela Verde sits on the edge of a peaceful residential village that feels a world away from the bustle below. The elevated position offers a sense of calm and privacy, with panoramic views stretching across the Atlantic to the island of Fuerteventura.

Despite its tranquil setting, the villa is just a short stroll from the charm of the old town and its picturesque harbour, as well as the lively promenade lined with shops, cafés, and restaurants. It’s the perfect balance of quiet seclusion and easy access to the best of Lanzarote.

The Bedrooms

La Cancela Verde comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests across three thoughtfully designed bedrooms, each with its own character, private terrace, and access to natural light and fresh air.

Master Bedroom & Ensuite

The master suite is a calm and elegant space featuring an extra-large double bed, direct access to a shaded terrace, and stunning views over the pool and across to the sea. Large glazed doors and sliding screens allow natural light and cooling breezes to flow through, while shutters offer privacy when needed. The room is tastefully decorated with handcrafted Canarian pottery and offers ample wardrobe space — all on a single level.

The ensuite bathroom is a luxurious and spacious retreat in its own right. It includes a full-length bath set into marble, twin freestanding basins, a bidet, and a toilet — all lit by natural light and reflected in a large inset mirror. A pair of sliding doors open onto a beautiful outdoor shower, discreetly enclosed within a walled garden for a refreshing and private experience.

Twin Bedroom & Ensuite

This comfortable twin bedroom leads directly from the TV lounge and offers two single beds and its own private west-facing terrace, perfect for enjoying Lanzarote’s golden evening light. Set within a walled garden and facing the mountains of Femes, this space feels private and tranquil. The room is accessed via two gentle steps from the lounge.

The ensuite bathroom features a walk-in shower, bidet, toilet, and basin, all set into a traditional cabinet with a large mirror — practical, peaceful, and ideal for unwinding after a day in the sun.

Triple Bedroom & Ensuite

The spacious third bedroom is ideal for families or flexible sleeping arrangements, with a large double bed, an additional single bed, and space for a cot if needed. A small private terrace faces east, catching the morning sunshine and offering a peaceful place to begin the day. Like the master suite, access is on one level, and the room is fitted with shutters and screened windows for comfort and ventilation.

The ensuite shower room includes a large walk-in shower, toilet, and two freestanding basins, each paired with a round mirror. The space is bright, airy, and designed with both comfort and convenience in mind.

With six comfortable sun loungers, garden seating, and a dedicated barbecue area, the outdoor space is ideal for everything from quiet mornings to sunset feasts.

Swim, Splash and Unwind

The main heated pool is a generous 13 metres long — perfect for morning laps or cooling off during the day — while the separate children’s pool provides a safe and fun space for younger guests. Both pools are maintained weekly and complemented by a luxury outdoor shower for a refreshing rinse under open skies.

The villa’s layout ensures excellent accessibility, with smooth transitions to the terraces and garden areas. Whether you’re travelling as a family, a couple, or with older guests, the outdoor areas are suitable for all ages, with features that are wheelchair accessible and entirely non-smoking and pet-free for your peace of mind.

Guest Experiences at La Cancela Verde

We really loved our week in Cancela Verde. The view across to the mountains, the sea and Peurto Calero makes you feel immediately relaxed. The villa is spacious, well equipped and you are beautifully cared for by Susanna and her team.

This villa was absolutely stunning. There was so much space for everyone (5 of us) and the place was spotless upon arrival. The views were remarkable. Susana the manager was amazing...

The villa was immaculate and Susana gave us a great welcome and proudly showed us around the changes that had been made since our last visit. We never tire of the views of the sea and mountains, peace and quiet.

From sunrise to sunset and nighttime moon and stargazing we were treated to an ever changing visual feast of sea, landscape and skyscapes. Truly exceptional.The gardens offered further delights with many an unusual plant and a variety of colourful flowers. We enjoyed dining in all of the little architectural nooks and crannies with the sunken barbecue space proving to be a highlight.

The villa was extremely private with barely any surrounding noise. There were so many spots to chill in for example the area by the outdoor stove/bbq and with every room having its own patio area, it was really perfect. This villa has its own quirk and my family and I would 100% return in the future.

The pool area is so nice we didn’t venture too far too often, but it’s a super easy walk into Puerto del Carmen where you’ll find everything you need for a fantastic Canarian holiday.
